Speech / communication difficulty
What worked
Most of my day is spent in my wheelchair, and before this I pretty much relied on my partner to interpret my eye movements and yes/no signals. With the Tobii, I have it mounted in front of me and use my eyes to select letters and phrases on the screen. In the mornings, I use it to tell my carer what I needβcoffee, meds, adjusting my position. Itt can be pretty slow but at least its given me some autonomy in feeling like I can take part in conversations again instead of just listening. Its made it easier to send messages to friends and make me feel like I am part of the decisions about my own care.
